Zane is 6 1/2 months old, and is developing so quickly!

He's sitting up really well, and rolling over from his back to his tummy. He's still figuring out the whole tummy-to-back process though, he hasn't quite mastered that part. =) And he's sleeping through the night, which is wonderful! He loves sleeping on his tummy - he is SO adorable that way too! We've started the "Your Baby Can Read" series and he loves watching the videos every day. Overall he's a happy, sweet little boy and such a joy!

Zane is 6 months old!

Zane turned 6 months old on Monday January 18th!

We went to his 6 month checkup today, here are his fun stats:
21 lbs 1 oz - 92nd percentile - he was 10 lbs 7 oz at birth, so he's gained 10 lbs 10 oz!
28 inches - 94th percentile - he was 21 3/4 in. at birth, so he's grown 6 1/4 inches!

His Dr said he looks great - healthy & happy! And two weeks ago when I had a bad cold, Zane didn't catch it! =) He's doing great at sitting up, and has rolled over a few times. He's sleeping through the night for the most part, which of course we are loving! He's laughing and smiling alot, and overall just a wonderful joy to have around.

Christmas 2009

We had a wonderful Christmas and New Years with Zane!

We started off the festivities by taking Zane to see Santa, and he had a great time!

Then we celebrated on Christmas Eve with reading "The Polar Express" - and we all heard the bell ring =)

Five Months old!

On Friday Zane turned 5 months old!!

He's still a wonderfully happy, sweet baby boy. He's very curious and loves watching everything we do. He's always entertained by the dogs, especially when they get ultra playful!

Our wonderful Hawaiian Ohana (family) sent Zane some poi, and he absolutely loves it!

For those of you who don't know, poi is made from taro. Taro is a root vegetable (like a potato), and it's about one of the healthiest starches you can eat! It's especially nutritious for babies. Here's a video showing just how happy he is eating poi! (there's a great extreme close-up about a minute in, it's worth it) =)

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to all our friends and family! We hope you all had a wonderful, blessed day.

This week we started "solids" with Zane - meaning rice cereal - and he did great! Of course we recorded this momentous occasion!

We thoroughly enjoyed Zane's first Thanksgiving. He had sweet potatoes for the first time today - and absolutely LOVED them. He definitely ate them with gusto and made very cute, happy sounds with almost every bite!

And he's developing more and more leg strength. We call him our little Weeble Wobble, doing the hula hoop!

Last weekend my wonderful friend Daria came to visit, with her two sons Nathan (7 1/2 months) and Brayden (2 1/2 yrs). Here's some pics of our two baby boys together!

Zane is 4 months old!

Yesterday Zane turned 4 months old! How life has changed in the last 4 months!

We went to the Dr. today for his checkup, here are the stats on our BIG little boy!

Height: 26 3/4 inches - 96th percentile!
Weight: 18lbs 5 oz - 96th percentile!

So, since birth, Zane has gained 7lbs 14oz, and grown 5 inches. He's very happy and healthy! And the Dr. said we can start "solids" - which at this point means trying rice cereal to begin with =)

Halloween & More Fun

Happy November everyone!


We had alot of fun with Zane for his first Halloween! Our little Zane the Zebra was just adorable. First we took him up to my office for the annual "bring your kids to work for trick or treating". Zane had lots of fun seeing all my coworkers and making them fall in love with him with his cute coos and smiles. Last night we had a blast walking him around the neighborhood. He was all smiles again and he's now coordinated enough to hold the candy! He got lots of candy and we promptly put it in the candy bowl and gave it to the rest of the trick or treaters.

Zane seemed to LOVE being in his costume...and when it was time to change him, he also LOVED being naked! Here's a pic & a video showing just how happy he was. His hair is all crazy from the costume =)

and finally...today was an absolutely gorgeous day! We decided to go for a walk - and finally tried out the baby carrier, which Zane really loved! Since we didn't have the stroller with us, we took the dogs too - so we had our first walk as a whole family. Here's a pic of Mike, Zane, Lanikai & Kiko. And yes, Zane is wearing sunglasses! They just barely fit him! =)
